Overview

Trusty Translate (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates trustytranslate.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and translation services, how we use it, and what choices you have.

We built this service for people who need to translate sensitive documents — passports, birth certificates, immigration records. We take that responsibility seriously. We collect only what we need, protect what we hold, and delete everything we no longer need.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) through Google Tag Manager (GTM container GTM-PK7XP3RZ) to understand how visitors interact with our site. This helps us improve page content, navigation, and performance.

What Google Analytics collects on our behalf

Pages you visit and the order you visit them
How long you spend on each page
What device, browser, and operating system you use
Your approximate geographic location (country and city — not your precise address)
How you arrived at our site (search engine, direct link, referral)
Events such as button clicks and form interactions

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and stored on Google's servers, primarily in the United States. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf under its Google Analytics Terms of Service. Google may also use this data to improve its own products and services.

How to opt out

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can also disable JavaScript or use a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts. Note that opting out does not affect your ability to use our translation services.

We have enabled IP anonymization in Google Analytics, meaning your full IP address is never stored by Google — only a truncated version is used for geographic reporting.

Browser Data

When you visit our site, your browser automatically sends certain technical information to our servers. We collect and briefly retain this data for security, error monitoring, and service improvement purposes.

IP address

Used to detect suspicious activity, enforce rate limits, and approximate geographic region for language selection. Stored in server logs for up to 30 days, then deleted.

User-Agent string

The browser identification string your browser sends with every request. Used for compatibility monitoring and detecting automated bots. Not linked to your identity.

Request timestamps

The date and time of page requests. Used for security auditing and diagnosing server errors. Retained in logs for 30 days.

Referring page

The URL of the page you came from, if any. Used to understand traffic sources and improve our marketing. Processed by Google Analytics.

We do not use browser fingerprinting, canvas fingerprinting, or any other technique designed to track you across sites without your knowledge. Browser data collected automatically is used only for the purposes listed above and is never used to build advertising profiles.

Your Documents

Documents you upload are the most sensitive data we handle. Here is exactly what happens to them:

Upload

Your file is sent directly to Amazon S3 over an encrypted TLS connection. It never passes through our web server.

Text extraction

Amazon Textract reads the file from S3 to count pages and words for pricing. The extracted text is stored temporarily in our database to generate your quote.

Translation

Our certified translator accesses your document through a time-limited, access-controlled link. They read only what is needed to perform the translation.

Delivery

The translated document is sent to your email. Both the original and translated file remain in S3 under encryption.

Deletion

30 days after upload, all files — original, translated, and extracted text — are permanently and automatically deleted. No manual action needed.

We do not use the content of your documents to train AI models, build advertising profiles, or share with any third party beyond what is necessary to complete your translation order.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. Here is every cookie we set or allow:

CookieDurationPurpose
_ga2 yearsGoogle Analytics — distinguishes unique users
_ga_*2 yearsGoogle Analytics GA4 — session and user state
_gid24 hoursGoogle Analytics — distinguishes users within a 24h window
_gat1 minuteGoogle Analytics — throttles request rate

We do not set advertising cookies, social media tracking cookies, or cookies from third-party ad networks. We do not use cookie consent banners for strictly necessary cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Note that disabling Google Analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use our service — it only affects our ability to measure site usage.
